After Domani created her dream ensuite, Lynne Groom and her family knew exactly who to call when it came to the redesign of their house’s main bathroom.
When Lynne Groom was looking to refurbish her ensuite bathroom, there was an idea at the back of her mind to follow the project with the renovation of the house’s main bathroom as well. However, so happy were Lynne and her husband with the work carried out by Domani Tiles and Bathrooms, that that notion was fast-tracked. ‘We were completely thrilled with the finished result and decided to have the family bathroom decked out by Domani as soon as possible. It wasn’t just the bathroom itself that made up our minds though, it was the whole experience. From the designers to the fitters, everyone was a pleasure to work with and more than that, the entire project ran exactly to time – which was a huge bonus. The team would arrive early and then thoroughly clean up after themselves at the end of the day, it worked like clockwork from beginning to end.’
Lynne had clear ideas with regards to the bigger picture when it came to the ensuite, ‘I knew I wanted twin basins and a walk in shower which was completely flush with the floor but was sure I didn’t want a wet-room. Quite the opposite in fact, I wanted as few tiles on the walls as possible. Our old bathroom was fully tiled and I was bored of that look, and the cleaning that went with it!’ she explains. The smaller details though, such as the tiles which would be necessary around the shower area and the taps, were something Lynne had not considered and working with Domani meant that she didn’t have to. ‘I trusted the team and allowed them to make those choices for us, I’m glad I did as the results really are perfect.’ The minimalist-style white tiles and elegant sandy coloured floor tiles are a chic contrast to the beautiful purple accent wall and the sleek, angular appearance of the Vado Notion taps mirror the squared-off shape of the basins and the countertop perfectly.
‘When it came to the main bathroom, we were sure that we wanted to keep the same shower model, but in a family bathroom we would obviously need a bath. We weren’t planning on anything particularly bold in its design, but the moment we walked into Domani’s fantastic showroom an egg-shaped Victoria & Albert model caught my husband’s eye and that’s it, he was sold!’ laughs Lynne. ‘Our designer also persuaded us to rearrange the layout of the room, so we ended up with the bath where our shower used to be. It’s just under the window which creates a lovely focal point that works well alongside the eye-catching style of the bath. The shower also had to be altered slightly, whereas in the ensuite we only have one glass wall, the main bathroom is that much bigger, meaning that it had to have a more substantial surround, again though it ended up looking better than I could have imagined.’ here too, the tiling is minimal and a vivid accent wall has been used to brighten up this classic, neutrally toned design. Domani have worked hard to ensure that there is a common theme between the two bathrooms, whilst maintaining an individual feeling in each and have clearly found loyal customers in the Grooms.
